Hi there đź‘‹

A bridge is a DeFi infrastructure that allows users to transfer assets or data from one blockchain to another.

When you use a bridge, your tokens are usually locked or burned on the source chain and then minted or unlocked on the destination chain in an equivalent form. This makes it possible to move assets across ecosystems and access different applications, liquidity, and yield opportunities without needing to sell your tokens.

Like most DeFi tools, bridges come with trade-offs to be aware of. They rely on smart contracts and cross-chain mechanisms, which means users are trusting additional infrastructure beyond a single blockchain. While this can introduce extra complexity, bridges play a key role in connecting ecosystems and are widely used to enable interoperability across DeFi.
